Scholarships

Through travel grants of up to a maximum of $2 000, Connect Africa Scholarships are for early career scientists and students in Africa who are pursuing opportunities for research development. Applicants must either be students or researchers at Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI), HIV Pathogenesis Programme (HPP) or Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA), or be seeking assistance to travel to one of these organisations.
The funding covers travel within South Africa or to other countries in order to learn new techniques, attend conferences and scientific courses, take part in teaching opportunities, build new scientific research collaborations and develop global and intra-Africa partnerships. The scholarships also aim to leverage the research and training facilities of the three research organisations, and to offer young African scientists (undergraduates, postgraduates, postdoctoral research fellows and early career research scientists) the chance to develop further as researchers.

10 Wits African Union Master Scholarships in Epidemiology, South Africa

Applications are invited for up to 10 African Union Scholarships for the Masters Programme in Epidemiology at the University of the Witwatersrand, School of Public Health for the 2019 Academic Year. The Africa CDC will provide full scholarships for ten Masters students in the 2019 academic year.
The Epidemiology and Biostatistics Division of Wits School of Public Health (WSPH) has since 2000 established itself as an institution of choice for the provision of postgraduate training in epidemiology and biostatistics within the sub-Saharan African region and beyond.

Scholarship Description: 

• Applications Deadline: August 31, 2018
• Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue Master degree programme.
• Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study Master of Science in Epidemiology degree programme at the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Public Health.
